  • Nurse call systems are systems providing assistance in calling and searching for persons.
  • These systems are designed to increase the security of patients health and lives.
  • A functional fault may lead to serious risks for the calling person or others.

Third Party Certification as per relevant Guidelines Major Guidelines:

  • VDE0834 Part 1 & Part 2 – Call systems in hospitals, nursing homes and similar institutions
  • UL 1069 – UL Standard for Safety Hospital Signaling and Nurse Call Equipment.

Product having necessary certification in accordance with guidelines make ensure that product is suitable for required application. It ensure good product quality & safety for the user (Galvanized Isolation, EMC/EMI, Environment Condition etc.).

Fundamental Terms:

  • A patient in the sense of this standard
  • Resident of Nursing Home
  • An inmate of correctional facilities
  • A visitor of a publicly accessible toilet
  • Call system: System providing assistance in calling or searching for persons; furthermore, additional information can be also transmitted by means of call systems
  • Call system with speech: Call system equipped with a speaking device
  • Presence marking setting of the personnel presence at the current location

FEATURES

  • Reassurance lamp optical acknowledgement of a placed call, being performed at the alarm location where the call was released
  • Locating lamp lighting at call buttons for finding the buttons in darkness
  • The call button shall be red and marked with a unique graphic symbol
  • Presence push buttons shall be green. If different presence pushbuttons exist for specific personnel groups, the yellow color may also be used for distinction.
  • At least one red illuminated field to serve as a call indicator, and with a green illuminated field to serve as a presence-marking indicator. Additional illuminated fields for other presences (green or yellow) and/or for additional information about the calling location in the room (white) are permitted. An additional blue indication is permitted for special calls.
  • The time between call release and signaling on the answering unit shall not exceed 5s.
  • The emergency call release will be prepared in a room via setting the presence marking there, and after pressing a call button in the room an emergency call will be released.
